Review spelling and pronunciation patterns taught in Lessons 1 through 46.
I – VI REVIEW spelling and pronunciation patterns for all of the vowels, blends, digraphs, and trigraphs learned to date.
If your student struggles over reading or spelling a particular word, it is a good idea to practice more with the patterns that are present in that word. Emphasize that reading is based on the ability to recognize patterns. But, at the same time, reading is more than just being able to recognize and pronounce pattern-based words—it’s also about making sense of what the words mean! So, discuss the meanings of words and make comprehension a priority. Spelling is an important activity that helps us be better writers, empowering us to say what we mean and mean what we say.
